Step 1

See if you qualify for FHBB services

FHBB only has 2 qualifiers to shop in The Market:

• Experiencing food insecurity (no proof needed)
• Reside in our Neighborhood: Manhattan, Riley County, St. George, or Fort Riley (proof of residency for each person in the household)

Step 2

Complete forms & Show Proof of Residency

Please print and fill out the Guest Information Form for your household and bring it with your proof of residency for each person in your household on your first visit. If you need someone to shop in The Market for you, please fill out the Proxy Form. FHBB has both forms on site if you're not able to print it.

Proof of residency for each person in the household - the document/digital proof must be dated within the last 90 days and include a household member's name.
Adult/Senior - Utility bill, lease or rental agreement, mail, letter from Be Able or MESI (if receiving services)
Children - Birth certificate, pediatrician documents, ParentSquare, letter from school, mail

Everyone's situation is unique. If you cannot provide these, please call or stop by and talk with the Market Manager or Access Coordinator.

STEP 3

Come to your first visit

Visit The Market during our shopping hours! Please bring your own bags and/or boxes to transport your food and hygiene items. 

​FHBB helps with essential needs but may not cover your full grocery list. We are designed to support and empower guests by giving you the freedom to choose what you need within posted limits.

Step 4

​Come to your next visit

Please come see us for as many weeks as you need! Guests can shop one time within the calendar week.

​For example, if Jane shops on Friday last week but wants to shop on Tuesday this week, they can! Please pick a time that works best for your schedule that's during our shopping times.

Step 5

Recertify Once a Year

Each year, we will have all guests recertify with FHBB. This helps us update all information in our system. Essentially, we will have you repeat steps 1 & 2 when that time comes.

 

When IS fhbb open?/When can I get food?

The Market @ FHBB is open 10:00am-3:00pm Monday and Friday, and 10:00am-6:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Guests must be checked in by 2:45pm (Mon/Wed) or 5:45pm (Tues/Thurs).

How do I sign up to get food from FHBB?

FHBB only has 2 qualifiers to shop in The Market:

• Reside in our Neighborhood: Manhattan, Riley County, St. George or Fort Riley
• Experiencing food insecurity

You'll need to bring a proof of residency (as explained above) and fill out our Guest Information Form.

What Proof Do I need to bring to sign up?

We only need to see proof of residency for each person in the household. This can be a physical document or a digital option like pulling a utility bill up on your phone. Proof must be dated within the last 90 days and include a household member's name.

What do I do if I don't have Proof of Residency?

Please let us know! We will chat with you about what barrier you may have when getting proof of residency and work with you to find a solution. Please call or stop by and talk with the Market Manager or Access Coordinator.

What Items does FHBB have?

We have food and hygiene items. Depending on what we're able to get through donation, purchase, etc, our selection may change.

How often can I come?

Guests can visit 1 time each week for 1 week of food.

Do I have to wait 7 days to shop again?

No. Guests can shop one time within the calendar week. For example, if Jane shops on Friday last week but wants to shop on Tuesday this week, they can! Please pick a time that works best for your schedule that's during our shopping times.

What if I can't come when you're open?

We'd love to see you during our shopping times! If you're not able to make it in during our shopping hours, look here for other options:

What if I don't have a way to get to FHBB? Do you deliver?

With our current capacity, we do not deliver or offer transportation to guests. 
The K18 Connect ATA bus route stops at FHBB or you may be closer to one of our Partner Markets.
